Bad Website Blocklist
Overview
This initiative introduces a blocklist designed to cleanse search results. The target is to eliminate subpar websites, such as those with AI-generated articles, low-effort spam, and thinly-veiled advertisements masquerading as information.
Comparison
The blocklist aims to enhance search quality by removing AI and SEO spam, thereby making room for quality articles.
Organization
An essential aspect of this repository is its organization. Each website blocked is documented with an issue explaining the reason for its inclusion, ensuring clarity and future reference.
How to Use
- Install the uBlacklist extension.
- Click on the extension in the browser toolbar and select “Options.”
- Enable it for your preferred search engines by clicking “Enable” next to other search engines.
- Scroll down to subscriptions, then click “Add a subscription.”
- Provide a name and use the following URL: Blocklist URL
Once configured, the listed websites will no longer appear in your search results. The subscription feature ensures the blocklist remains current.
Contributing
To add a website to the blocklist, create an issue. Further information is available in the contributing guide. This blocklist project draws inspiration from the comprehensive AI blocklist and frustration with inadequate tech support articles.
